- : Hello to all the Amiga hardware freakazoids!
-
- : I am wondering if anyone ever finally got their CyberVision 64 and
- : one that works?
-
- I've got one back in June, and it works.
-
- : I understand a lot of the first ones were really troublesome.
-
- Only the ones with a serial number starting with 80xxx. The ones starting
- with 81xxxx have a slow-buster jumper and I think some other things changed
- as well. No problems with mine (81xxx and buster-09)
-
- : I think they have probably settled down now and production
- : is on an even keel so that the quality is good. How is the board doing
- : for you?
- : What monitors are you using and what resolutions are you able
- : to maintain solidly? I haven't been able to see one yet or acquire one
- : to test out, so I thought some of you may have. Let me know your thoughts
- : good or bad.
- It's great!!!! Since my current monitor does only 35.5 kHz I'm using just
- some mode like 800*600 and sometimes for picture viewing some larger
- resolutions. I can confirm that screen up to 1280*1024 work fine , but these
- modes are interlaced due to my monitor limitation. The card can do them
- non-interlaced of course if you have a correct monitor.
- Of course you heard it's great already, so let me point you to some negative
- points:
- The pointer has only 2 colors instead of the usual 3 of the amiga-chips, and
- since it runs CyberGraphX, which eats tons of memory, especially in 16/24
- bit you need quite an amount of fast-ram.
-
-
-
- : Has anyone done a review on the boards yet? Take care
- : most excellent Amiga users, be well...
-
- I think it's on Aminet in /docs/rview
-
- If you want to know more, mail me...
